Introducing Advance Planning: A Workshop for Better Understanding and Preparation

Join us for a friendly and informative Advance Planning Workshop. This session is designed to help you better understand your options and make informed choices about your future care.
In this interactive workshop, we will introduce you to the key elements of advance planning. These include the Advance Decision to Refuse Treatment (ADRT), an Advance Statement of your wishes and preferences, the ReSPECT form, Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (DNACPR) orders, and the idea of Digital Legacies.
Participants will explore these tools from both personal and legal perspectives, gaining the knowledge and confidence to express their values and ensure their wishes are respected. Whether planning for yourself or supporting a loved one, this workshop provides essential insights into making informed choices for the future
This workshop is for anyone—whether you’re thinking about your own care or helping a family member or friend plan ahead. You don’t need any prior knowledge. We’ll guide you step-by-step in a relaxed, supportive environment. There will be the opportunity to share discussion with other attendees if you wish.
By the end of the session, you’ll feel more confident in your understanding of advance care planning. You’ll leave with practical knowledge and a deeper sense of how to take control of your future choices.
The workshop has been developed in partnership by Bev Downie, an experienced End of Life Doula, and is sponsored by Home Instead Chichester and Bognor Regis. Together, they bring compassion, experience, and expert guidance to this important topic.
Take this opportunity to plan ahead, feel empowered, and have open conversations about the care you want. It’s never too early to start thinking about the future.
We welcome everyone to join—individuals, carers, and professionals alike. We will be holding sessions in person and online. Contact us for information about future sessions.
